Flat Renovation

A Flat with Soul: Inspired by London’s Pubs

This split-level one-bedroom flat in Hackney was designed for a lively couple who love London’s nightlife, particularly its pubs. They asked me to channel that cozy, inviting atmosphere into their living/dining room and home office.

The dining area was designed to be both functional and atmospheric, creating the perfect setting for dinner parties and everyday meals alike. A vintage round extending table was chosen to maximize seating without disrupting the room's flow, complemented by matching green leather chairs that echoed the rich Heritage Green walls.

Painting all the walls in this deep shade added a cozy, moody ambiance, while a beautiful wallpaper was introduced to frame and define the dining space. Positioned by the window to take advantage of natural light, the area is enhanced by a dramatic ceiling light and matching wall sconces, which bring elegance and character, making the space both inviting and visually captivating.

My clients found a beautiful mid-century drinks cabinet, complete with its original serving hatch, built-in light, and mirrored back. It still had its vintage cocktail sticks and glassware, making it perfect for hosting and sharing their favorite drinks with friends and family.

A home office was a must, so we utilized an alcove in the living space to house a beautiful vintage bureau - combining function and style, while also hiding unsighty items
